The University of Bedfordshire are hosting the virtual Going to Uni event on Thursday 24th June 2021.

The event is designed to go a little way to replace the Bedfordshire UCAS Exhibition that we would usually host at this time of year and is open to students in Years 10 to 13.

Key elements of the day will include:

Academics from across our faculties will be on hand throughout the day (10-2pm) to meet and speak to students about studying their respective subjects at university and potential career opportunities beyond graduation.

Webinars offering information and advice around Post 16 Options, Why Go To University?, Introduction to UCAS, Writing a Winning Personal Statement and Student Finance.

Wide range of our Student Ambassadors on hand to answer any questions your students may have about university.

Support services such as our Accommodation Team and Student Union will also be available to offer insight to university life.

Luton Borough Council Post 16 Team offering information, advice and guidance to anyone wishing to access it.

We would like to make it clear that this event is an impartial event and is NOT an open day for the University of Bedfordshire. It is designed to offer students information, advice and guidance around their progression options at both Post 16 & 18 transition stages. Whilst we have many subject areas covered, unfortunately we are unable to offer any subject advice around medicine, dentistry and veterinary science/medicine. However, our staff are able to signpost to appropriate sources of information for these subject areas.

Students wishing to participate will need to register here. Registration will guarantee they are sent the link and username to access the event. The event will run from 9am until 3pm, our academic staff will be live to chat with from 10am and the programme of webinars running from 9am and repeated through the day (exact programme TBC). Students can drop into the event at any point between 9am & 3pm and as often as they like.

Please note bookings for the event will close at 5pm on Tuesday 22nd June

Virtual Tours

It’s not easy for any of us having to work on a virtual platform but that said our Virtual Tours have been a huge success and Applications continue to flow. I personally really miss coming into schools and speaking to your students. Lets hope that 2021 will be a much better year!

If any of your students who have not yet accessed a Virtual Tour all they need to do is go to our website – facilities – Interactive Virtual Tour.  https://www.stamford.ac.uk/college-life/campus-tours

Stamford College are hosting a series of Virtual Open Events.

Follow the instructions below to join.

Why not take advantage of our virtual ‘small group’ sessions for students who may benefit from working within a smaller, informal group. Any students who are not necessarily  comfortable asking questions, are encouraged to send them in via their tutors. This can also benefit larger groups. It works incredibly well and gives students food for thought and confidence during challenging times! We aim to make each session as informal and interesting as possible. We encourage them to do their research and explore all further education options.

We are very keen to help wherever we can. Lets hope that 2021 brings us back into a face to face world but in the meantime this really works well! Christmas is fast approaching, I would encourage you to consider booking ASAP while we still have capacity during the next 5 weeks.
