Corby Cross-Town Orchestra

On Wednesday 31st March, we took twenty-two musicians to Studfall Junior School to play in the Cross-Town Orchestra.

We began with a long rehearsal where students could meet and help other students from Studfall and Corby Business Academy learn their parts.

After the rehearsal there was a free performance to the public which included individual school performances and the collaborative 'Star Wars' and 'I've Been Working on the Railroad.'

It was a fantastic afternoon and we're looking forward to the next concert at Corby Business Academy in July.

Student Quotes

'It was really good getting together with the other schools.  It showed us all what we can aspire to be and gave us a chance to show others what we can do.  It also showed unity when playing together.  Personally it showed me that dynamics are important as each part needs to be heard to make an ensemble sound nice.' - Kerry, Year 12

'The Cross-Town Orchestra was a great experience as there was a range of instruments and schools.  The Studfall School performed great considering how young they are and the tuba players from CBA were magnificent.  This was a great event and I can't wait for the next one.' - Josh, Year 9
