GCSE success for Kingswood Secondary Academy pupils

Pupils are celebrating after receiving their results for their GCSE or equivalent courses of study.

Indicative results show that 38 per cent of pupils have gained five or more GCSE passes (A*-C) including English and mathematics, which is an increase on last year’s result and broadly in line with the current national floor target for pass rates at GCSE (40 per cent). In addition, the English and Humanities departments show rises of six and 12 percentage points respectively.

Some pupils have particular cause to celebrate:

·         Melissa Thomson who achieved three A* grades, four A grades, a B grade and a Distinction*.

·         Chloe Bremner who achieved one A* grade, three A grades and five B grades.

·         Kayleigh Callander who achieved five A grades, three B grades and a Merit.

Tony Meneaugh, Acting Principal, said: “These results mark yet another step in the Kingswood Secondary Academy’s journey to becoming the outstanding school that everyone deserves. I would like to thank pupils for their hard work and commitment and wish them every success as they continue their education or enter training or employment.
