Year 9 and 10 Trial Examinations Week
As part of our efforts to ensure Year 10 students are thoroughly well prepared for their GCSE exams in less than a year's time, we will shortly be holding Year 10 trial examinations. We will also be holding Year 9 trial examinations in Science, English and Maths to help these students make preparations for beginning their GCSE courses.
Year 10 trial examinations will take place from 23rd June to 27th June 2014, and Year 9 trial exams from 25th June to 27th June 2014. These trial examinations are an opportunity for students to revise and consolidate their knowledge, develop examination skills and experience full scale examination conditions. The exams will be treated as a serious and important part of the build up to the GCSE exams and associated examinations.
All of our students have access to SAM Learning - a website with revision materials and examination style questions, and also MyMaths - a website with readymade lessons and homework tasks. The simple truth is that students who revise and complete homework do far better in examinations, and therefore improve their life chances.
The week is a normal week in terms of uniform and timings of the Academy day. Letters have been posted to parents of Year 9 and 10 to inform them of these details.

NB: GCSE ART & DESIGN 10HR MOCK ALL DAY FRIDAY 4TH JULY and MONDAY 7TH JULY -THESE WILL TAKE PLACE IN A1 & A3
Please note:
- When a student does not have a trial examination they should attend their normal lesson
- All examinations will take place in the Sports Hall, unless stated otherwise on the timetable above.
- All mobile phones to be placed into student lockers or switched off and handed in to exam staff on entry to the exam.
- All students will need two black pens, two pencils, a ruler and a calculator
- This is a normal school week in terms of uniform and timings of the school day.
